Haiiro No Kodomo

The Haiiro No Kodomo, which roughly translates to "grey children", are Nanami's main race. The race has undergone some seriously changes, the largest of which being The Fall.

Without the Library as a reference, and its status as a legend, it is difficult to corroborate whether all those who hear the Haiiro No Kodomo's song die from it. Amulets, elixirs, and special earplugs are frequently sold to men setting sail or going of to war as proof against the song. It is clear, however, that the amulets easily sold are ineffective. Stories given by families who have purchased such trinkets indicate that the song is still lethal.

Pre-Fall

They were known as beautiful, alluring creatures. They were described as resembling austere elves with eyes like Nanami's. Their lithe, elven torsos were connected to serpentine lower-halves. Most notable were their love of music and colorful wings.

Post Fall

The Haiiro No Kodomo, Post Fall, are a figure of dread and death. They are but the tattered remains of what they once were, encased in a shroud not unlike their goddess'.

It is known that they are connected with death, but is unclear whether they are the harbinger or heralds. The sections that would uncover this in The Library are restricted.
