Fae
The White Fae are an extinct race of humanoids believed to originate beyond The Rift. The surviving descriptions characterize them as a strangely angular elf of about meter in height with dragonfly-like wings. It is thought that their white skin and hair were a result of their transition through the rift.
Their exact date of arrival is unknown, but it is thought that they may have made their exodus during the Fifth Goddess War. Reports of sightings do not date back further.
When it was discovered that they could breed with humans, the Fae, as they called themselves, began rebuilding their race through careful cross breeding. The human genes were dominant, however; the definitive characteristics of the Fae were diminished significantly in every pairing.
After a few generations, it became obvious the Elders that continued exposure and breeding with the humans would result in the destruction of their people. They isolation of the Fae within the forests of Syrc can be tracked loosely to the first child born to a Fae mother without wings.
Centuries passed, and sightings of the Fae now resembled the tales given to a considered fictional race that were prophesied to destroy the reign of a mortal king. The conflict that arose is known as the War of the White Fae.
Near the end of the war, the Guardians of the last surviving royal sacrificed themselves for the creation of Unerring Orb. While this doomed their race to extinction, the final member of the race took a consort when she assumed the mortal king's throne.
It is thought that descendants of this union remain.
