Named after the Paragon Dvrask, the Dvrask Era was a period of learning and advancement in magic and civilization. In the centuries after Abhirati's defeat in the Fourth Goddess War, what would become the University of Rak'Than paired up with the other contemporary establishments of the day to research the workings of Rhila.

Historians believe that Dvrask's philosophy and the deeds of Urthos were the main catalysts for the founding of the University as it stands today.

Teleportation

Before the Dvrask Era, the only method of ensuring safer teleportation was to utilize the power of groups. The first people to successfully rescue someone from the In-Between after a failed teleportation were the twin sons of Dvrask. After luck guided them to their father's lost Guardian, they devised a method by which even teleport-addled wizards could remember their way home. They called this The Red Rabbit, and it was the first teleportation room.

Ley-Line Research

Previous research into ley-lines had discerned little; these currents of magic were connected in some manner to the travel patterns of sentient creatures, the lines moved when the flow of this travel changed, and the energy pooled where large populations remained stationary. This new combination of efforts revealed that the location of graves on ley-lines increased dramatically the chances of the deceased returning in undeath. Within the decade, further research had documented the safety hazards of common burial methods. Creatures that did not celebrate their dead or perform funeral rites had significantly lower observed instances of undeath.

Various forms of ritual cremation became the norm for burial in Rak'Than at the urge of Dvrask.
