Libromancer Orders were tightly knit, academic based groups of magic users founded during the late 93d Century. These Orders competed against one another, with the intent of domination in the political arena. Governments, at the time, were predominantly magocracies. This provided the Orders with the authority they required to conduct their research and to administer the laws that collected as a result.<ref>Marhu, H. Advent

Created during the aftermath of the Fourth Goddess War, during the power vacuum created through Urthos' actions, a group of libromancers, typically advanced in study, would forge an alliance with other libromancers in the area. These alliances would often hinge on the availability of resources and research materials. The first such alliance was the Order of the Corvidae Libellus.

Rise

Beneficiaries of a Libromancer Order would often receive greater standards of healthcare and general safety than available in other parts of the world. While becoming host to a new Order was a dangerous prospect, well-established Orders brought innovation and education to the populous surrounding their holds.

Abhirati's slumber permitted many of these Orders to grow unhindered. Their prevalence lead to the era known as Age of Order. These Orders, although varied, typified the research institutions set up by the new libromancers. Secretive and recluse, the organizations were difficult to join and the information they gathered difficult to catalogue.

Decline

At the height of their era, there were numerous Orders. In the last centuries before their decline, there arose a hierarchy within the overall group. When the Prime Order fell silent due to internal quarrels, the remaining Orders began to vie for the now vacant title. Evenly matched, the two Orders considered second amassed other Orders to back their claim to Prime-hood. The resulting War of 400 Years brought to an end the majority of the Orders.<ref>Silvis, D. Insular and reclusive, many of these cabal's discoveries did not become part of the general libromancer knowledge until the Age of Enlightenment, well after the Orders' decline.
