Gnomes are an insular race preoccupied with the concept of invasion and national security. As such, they have cut themselves off from the magic using races. The stars bear gnomish names.
Physical Description
While particulars vary between individual groups, most gnomes are short, knobby humanoids with round heads with frequently hooked noses and ears. Reports indicate that gnomes reach maturity at about age 40 and live between 100 and 150 years.
Gnomes have a circular respiratory system with four lungs. They inflate in diagonal pairs; as one set deflates the other inflates.
Organization
Not much is known about their governments or culture, but the following has been extrapolated:
- A band is between 2 and 20 gnomes.
- Colonies exist, their numbers between 200-5000 gnomes.
- Colonies report to Mechas. No information on gnomish mechas is currently available.
Magic and Magic Use
Gnomes cannot use magic. However, they are quite fond of magical devices. Their inability to detect arcane or divine magic drives them to pursue other avenues of bettering their daily lives.
